Text I

1.I was just live life up. (para.1):全句释义:I was enjoying life to my heart’s content. 我没有什么担心的事,只是享受着生活。注意live up和live up to的区别:前者指“快乐地过日子”,后者指“实行,履行;不辜负,达到标准”:One ought to live up to what he knows to be right.自己认为是对的,就要去履行它。He has lived up to the hopes of his father.他没有辜负父亲的期望。

2.I confronted him as to why we were not friends any more. (para.2) 全句释义:I faced him bravely, challenging him why we were not friends any more. 我就过去当面问他为什么不再当我是朋友了。其中confront 为动词,意为“使面对,面对面”,例如:A soldier has to confront danger.士兵必须面对危险。短语as to意为“关于,有关”:I has no doubts as to your ability.我对你的能力没有怀疑。

3.When things had gone wrong before this, I could always rely on my parents to make things better. There was nothing that they could do this time. I had to handle it all on my own.
